A very nice example of the Victorian papermache culture of the
late 1800's. It is inlaid with mother of pearl, has stenciled gold
bordering and gilding, and an oil painted floral motif. With the top
tilted, it is 39-1/2" tall; top stabilized, 27" tall; 23" wide;
and 18-1/2" deep. In remarkably good condition with only a few chips
at edge and a replaced hinge. C. 1890.
